The German-New Zealand artist Sandro Kopp settles with his art in the field of contemporary & figurative art. Especially his eye portraits enjoy special fame. His current exhibition “Artist Statement – Intensive Care Units” can be found in Stadtraum der Sammlung Friedrichshof.
Here, visitors can expect “an exploration of the subjective perspective that figurative painting offers us” (lofficiel.at 2021). The exhibition is divided into three parts, which can be experienced on the two levels of the city space in Vienna Mariahilf.
Here Sandro Kopp has enough creative space to present his latest works. Self-portraits of the artist are shown, as well as a variety of eye portraits, in the reflection of which often hides the artist himself. In addition, the exhibition also offers the Lockdown Zoom Portraits, an exciting series of images created during video conversations with people around the globe.
Philipp has documented the exhibition photographically and captured the total work of art in the urban space true to color and reality. The images are used for the online presentation of the exhibition in the urban space, as well as in the online & print catalog of the artist.
The works of Sandro Kopp can be admired from June 3 to July 31, 2021 at Stadtraum in 1060 Vienna.
